How long does the process usually take?

We typically deliver a curated shortlist of high-quality candidates within two weeks. From there, timelines depend on your interview process and how quickly you want to move.

How involved do we need to be in the hiring process?

You stay involved where it matters most. We handle sourcing, screening, and logistics, then bring you a shortlist of high-quality candidates to interview. You make the final hiring decision exactly as you would for an onshore role. We always recommend following the full hiring process you'd use for any onshore hire.

So, you're a recruiter?

No - our structured, retention-first partnership model effectively combines recruitment and employer of record (EOR) services. We don’t just hire talent, we work with scale-ups to build stable, high-performing teams over time.

What happens once someone is hired?

Once your hire starts, they become part of your team operationally. You manage their day-to-day priorities, workflows, and performance, while we take care of the people operations behind the scenes - including payroll, compliance, HR support, and retention.

Do you help with one-off hires, or is MDT better suited to building teams?

We can do both, but we’re particularly well suited to companies growing teams over time. Our model is designed to support long-term hiring, and the more you scale, the more value you get from having one partner managing recruitment, employment, and people ops in one place.

How does pricing work?

We charge a flat monthly fee per hire that covers everything from your team member’s salary to compliance, people ops, forex, and our fees. There is also a one-time onboarding fee, equivalent to one month, when a new hire starts.

As you grow your team with us, our pricing becomes more efficient. We offer discounts at scale, so the cost per hire comes down as you build across multiple roles or functions over time.

What if a hire doesn’t work out?

All hires are covered by the MDT Guarantee. If a hire doesn't work out, we'll find an alternative option ASAP.

Do hires work remotely or in-office?

You can choose whether you want your offshore team to work from our Cape Town office or remotely. Our in-office offering helps support performance, accountability, and cohesion - especially in functions where consistency and retention matter.

Do we need a legal entity in South Africa?

No. We employ your team on your behalf, which means you can hire in South Africa without the complexity of setting up and running a local entity.
